looking for a Property
Searching a for a property can be exciting, exhausting, and/or overwhelming depending on the market and your situation. Here are some suggestions to help you start the process.
Interested in Buying?
There are many things to consider when buying a property.
Wondering where to start...?
- Brainstorm - Take some time to think about what is important for you in a home. Remember that most of us have a budget, so you will want to think about what you need vs. what you want.
- Decide on an Agent - Look for someone you trust, first and foremost. Pick an agent who will listen to what you want. Make sure they are attentive to your needs and willing to act quickly if your dream home comes on the market. There are lots of great agents but not every agent will be great for you!
- Financing/Downpayment - Desirable homes often sell quickly and it is important that you have everything in place before that perfect house comes on the market. Getting pre-qualified with a mortgage company or a bank is relatively easy and can be done over the phone or online. I can help you find a mortgage broker if you need or you can find one on your own. Don't forget about the downpayment! You don't need this before you talk to a mortgage broker but will need this in place before we start your search!

Needs vs. Wants
Ask yourself….
What are my reasons for buying a home? Sometimes it is obvious like when moving to a new city, having a growing family, or a divorce. Other times it is not so obvious… sometimes you just feel like a change.
Next…
What are the things you would like in your new home. This is a great time to be specific. Be sure to divide this list into “must have” and “would be nice”.
Ask yourself…
How long am I willing to commute to work? Am I looking for something in a specific area of town? How much yard-work am I willing to do? Once you have an idea of your preferences, decide which aspects are most important. You might also want to think about home styles. Are you set on a two story or would you consider a bungalow. How many bedrooms and bathrooms?
Thinking about working with me but wondering if we would work well together...?
I have set aside a few hours a week to be available to people who are looking for an agent and would like to chat.
